Blog Detail Image

Knowing how to Use a Submersible Pump will save you a lot of time with your spa maintenance. A complete water change will become an important part of your hot tub maintenance routine. This is especially true if your hot tub is a Holiday Let. In a holiday let setting it is essential that you change water between every booking.  So, how can you do this quickly and easily?

Time for a water change?

We regularly get asked the most efficient way to empty a hot tub. There are two solutions, first of all you could use the drainage that is already installed in your spa. The length of time the spa will take to empty depends on the size of the plug and the volume of the spa.  Using this method, gravity alone will typically drain your spa in between 1 & 2 hours.

However, if a faster turn-around time is what you’re after, the second option is to use a submersible pump which will empty your spa in a much more efficient way.

Typically a sub pump will drain  your spa in around 10 minutes, with flow rates of up to 13,000 litres an hour.
